Why am I showing you this delightful watercolour by Scottish artist and colour theorist, Patrick Syme?

Why am I obsessed with eighteenth and nineteenth century Scottish watermills generally?

. . . and grain mills in particular?

The mill mystery will be revealed next week!

Hi Kate,
I am involved with a project to recreate a 3 ply gansey wool that was used in Sheringham, Norfolk for its ganseys. This project is being done by Sheringham Museum. Sheringham was unique in using 3 ply not 5ply wool.
Laidlaws of Keith and Rothiemay may have produced it .Do you have any info on this mill
from your studies?
Many thanks
Frankie
Why are you showing us these pictures? Because they’re gorgeous, that’s why! I never have a doubt when I open your posts, Kate, that I will be seeing something beautiful. Your eye (and Tom’s) are infallible!
